Arts and Urban Renewal conversation with Pittsburgh Emerging Arts Leaders

Great conversation happening next Tuesday in Pittsburgh. Join if you can! We hope to post a recap and some photos here on the Second Steel blog after the event. From the Pittsburgh Emerging Arts Leaders page:

Here in Pittsburgh, artists and the arts are a massive force in urban renewal. All across the city and its surrounding areas, people are developing the arts in their communities while revitalizing and enhancing their communities and bettering the city itself.

What is behind this cycle? What makes it more complicated than we think? What are the things that Pittsburgh has done well, and what are the things that need some more work when it comes to this complex relationship?

If this topic and these kinds of questions interest you, please join us for our Spring Creative Conversation event, “Arts as an Urban Renewal” on Tuesday, May 14 from 7-9 pm at Garfield Artworks (4931 Penn Ave; Pittsburgh, 15224) for drinks, light food, and interesting discussion.

Click here to see the rest of the description and click here to RSVP (it’s free but they want to know you’re coming).
